Vagabonds have slipped into the South Lancs/Cheshire Division One drop zone after suffering a 32-14 defeat at fellow strugglers Ormskirk on Saturday. The defeat leaves the Isle of Man side one point from safety with one game remaining after rivals Sale and Glossop both claimed vital wins. "We're bitterly disappointed but all we can do now is try and win our final game," said captain Leigh Kennaugh. The Manx side's final match is against third-placed Tyldsley. Meanwhile, a resurgent Douglas side beat high-flying Ruskin Park 29-10 at Port-e-Chee to move to 10th place in South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two and Orrell Anvils guaranteed their promotion with a 20-3 win over Ramsey at Mooragh Park. Elsewhere, Vagabonds B won the Manx Trophy after a thrilling 17-13 victory over Southern Nomads and Douglas B beat Ramsey B 25-16 to win the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl.
