Cornish Pirates went top of Pool B of the Championship after beating Bedford Blues at Goldington Road on Sunday. After trading penalties, Pirates were down 15-12 at half-time. But three outstanding tries after the break saw them deny the Blues a bonus point. Two tries in four minutes from Rob Cook and skipper Gavin Cattle gave the Pirates a 24-15 lead. Pirates then made the game safe with a third try on 72 minutes as hooker Dave Ward scored under the posts.
