Vagabonds were beaten 21-13 on an extremely heavy pitch at Wigan despite a much improved second-half performance on Saturday. Jonny Beckley gave the Manx side a 3-0 lead, before Wigan hit back with three converted tries. Jake Coates and Jonny Beckley scored either side of half-time, but Wigan held on for the win in South Lancs/Cheshire Division One. The victory means Wigan are just three points behind Vagabonds in the table. Meanwhile, Douglas got back to winning ways with a 18-15 victory over Duckinfield at Port-e-Chee in Division Two. The match was tied at 15-15 before a late Mike Hebden penalty sealed the victory. Despite the win Douglas remain 10th whilst Ramsey are seventh after losing 15-9 at home to fourth place Warrington. Elsewhere, Ramsey B completed the double over Emerging Nomads, winning 22-7 at King William's College in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield, whilst Vagabonds claimed an early advantage in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy with a 13-5 win over Castletown.
