Redruth failed to build on a promising start as they fell to a narrow defeat at the hands of London Scottish. The Reds stormed into an early lead at the Rec, Paul Thirlby crashing over to put his side ahead. Scottish fought back with converted tries from Willie Lipp and Lewis Calder putting them 14-5 ahead at the break. Lipp struck again after the restart, before the Reds rallied, a penalty try and Aaron Penberthy penalty ensuring they picked up a losing bonus point. Scottish fly-half James Brown was on target with all three of his attempts on goal, as the London club secured their 12th win of the season to stay second in the National One standings. The defeat sees the Reds drop back into the relegation places, having now lost eight times this season.
