Truro City lost their first league game since last October as they were undone by a hard working Hednesford Town.
The Southern Premier League leaders found life difficult on a heavy pitch, with an Andy Watkins shot their best chance of a scrappy first period.
Hednesford took the lead on 70 minutes as Danny Quinn volleyed the ball into the left hand corner of City's goal.
Truro pressed hard for an equaliser, but the home side kept their discipline to hold out for the win.
Despite the defeat, Truro remain top of the league standings, with an eight point advantage over second-placed Salisbury City.
