Southern Premier League: Truro City 3-1 Stourbridge

Truro City FC

Truro City have moved seven points clear at the top of the Southern Premier League after coming from behind to beat Stourbridge at Treyew Road.

The visitors went ahead through Ryan Rowe, the striker pouncing to put his side 1-0 up on 32 minutes.

Barry Hayles pulled the Tigers back on terms shortly afterwards, and the sides went in 1-1 at the break.

Andy Watkins put Truro ahead on the hour mark, before Marcus Martin secured the points with an 87th minute goal.

Truro City manager Lee Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall:
"We didn't think the game was going to be on this morning, but the boys have done a tremendous bit to clear the pitch and to come away with the win is another fantastic result.

"He (Barry Hayles) is brilliant, he's come in and he's causing defenders all sorts of problems and the boys absolutely love him.

"Stourbridge are a big, strong, physical team and I've patted the boys on the back today because that was a big performance."
