Reynolds said the team was determined to be promoted this season |
Guernsey Rugby Club have achieved their aim of topping the London Two South West table at the Christmas break. The Sarnians, who lost out in a promotion battle last season, remained eight points ahead of Guildford after all the weekend's games were postponed. Coach Jordan Reynolds said: "I stayed on as coach this year as I really wanted to get that promotion spot." "It'd be a massive step forward for the players, especially the youth coming through you have to give them targets." He added: "If you're just going to stay in the same league every year you're never going to promote yourself as a club so I think it will be immense for Guernsey's rugby all together." The postponed away games against Old Reigatian and Guildford are due to be played in 2011. Guernsey lost their play-off game to Hove 17-14 in April and saw their opponents move up to London One South.
