Cambridge squad do not need lift, says Bob Crooks

Cambridge director of rugby Bob Crooks insists his players will not need a morale boost going into Saturday's trip to Cinderford.

Crooks's men suffered their first home defeat since March on Saturday when Stourbridge left Wests Renault Park 27-23 winners.

Crooks told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm not going to pick them up, it's Cinderford away.

"They've just lost a game, I don't need to do anything."

Cambridge had entered the match on the back of a three-game winning run but had it all to do after captain Darren Fox was red-carded with just 24 minutes on the clock.

And Crooks believes he has learned nothing new about his men, who remain second in National One despite an ongoing battle to keep the club financially stable.

"Positives? There weren't any. It doesn't tell us anything about us," he said.

"We know the guys have got courage, heart and commitment as we've had everything kicked out of us since the start of September by our own club."
