Rayer has seen his side win their last six Championship matches |
Bedford Blues director of rugby Mike Rayer believes his side have not hit top form this season. Blues are second in the Championship, with just two defeats, ahead of their British & Irish Cup clash with Ulster. "People said we peaked when we put 50 points on Plymouth Albion but that seems a long time ago," Rayer told BBC Three Counties Radio. "You'll get ups and downs but we've always said that if we get things right, we can rack up the points." Rayer also denies that his side have found things easy in the Championship. | Our defence has been the cornerstone and we've built the attack on having confidence in the defence |
"We've had some tough games - Rotherham and Doncaster made us work hard for bonus point wins, and the pleasing thing is that we've had to battle," he said. "Our defence has been the cornerstone and we've built the attack on having confidence in the defence. "We've only conceded only one or two tries on average, and we always back ourselves to score a few more."
