Luctonians fear the thaw will not come quickly enough
Luctonians look likely to lose a second successive game to the weather
Luctonians fear their pitch will not thaw out in time for Saturday's home game against Loughborough Students.
The Mortimer Park pitch is frozen solid and director of rugby Alex Davidson doesn't see conditions easing too much before the visit of the league leaders.
"Although the sun is on it, the pitch hasn't got above minus-two.
"It has been that way for several days now, even at midday, so it is probably looking doubtful," Davidson told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
Luctonians scheduled trip to Harrogate on Saturday, 4 December was called off due to the weather and the Loughborough game looks likely to go the same way.
Davidson says there are only a limited number of available Saturdays on which to reschedule the games and these are fast filling up.
"There were three free weekends in the new year - two in February and one in March," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"If the game this weekend is off then all three of those are now taken so you have the prospect of playing well into May.
"That is fine with me but obviously some of the boys are going to get tired as it is their first year at this level so it is going to be a big ask," he added.
In common with a host of clubs, Luctonians have been scouring the locality for suitable indoor training facilities in order to keep up fitness levels.
Davidson says they have come up with one venue but he admits it is something of an unusual solution to their current problems.
"We've managed to use an indoor equine training centre at Bromyard and we're grateful they've allowed us on there," he said.
"It is 60 metres by 30 metres so we're managing to do quite a lot of game-related practice at the moment so that is going down well with the boys."
