Crooks' side are fourth in National League One |
Cambridge boss Bob Crooks has challenged his side to get to grips with resilient opponents. The National One outfit battled for three points in a 26-26 draw at Macclesfield at the weekend. Crooks told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We need to get around other teams negativity; it's a big learning curve. "Once we deal with that, and we will, we'll be hard to handle; both from when we start throwing he ball around and then when it starts to close up again." Crooks' men were dealt a raw hand with the early season fixtures, having to go on their travels three times in their first four games. | We'd all liked to have won four, but we're learning, we're developing and we're improving Cambridge boss Bob Crooks |
But a return of two wins, one draw and one defeat has left them fourth in the table and with the league's highest total in the points for column. "Am I happy? Yes, I suppose so," Crooks added. "It's a hard start and then we get all our home games in January when the weather's poor. "I think we've just about got enough points out of it. We'd all liked to have won four, but we're learning, we're developing and we're improving." Cambridge have the comfort of being back at Wests Renault Park on Saturday when they host sixth-placed Coventry.
