Roberts also plays at full-back for Launceston |
A 13-point haul from fly-half Jervis Manapenu helped Otley send National One rivals Launceston crashing to defeat. Launceston started brightly, with two tries from Lewis Webb giving them a 13-3 lead. But the home side responded with two touchdowns of their own to edge in front by 17-13 at the break. Second-half tries from Tim Mathias and Jamie Salter gave Launceston the advantage, but Manupenu's boot proved key as the home side grabbed victory. Otley's try scorers were Joel Gill, Chris Morgan and Curtis Wilson, while Manupenu kicked two penalties, two conversions and a late drop-goal. Mal Roberts kicked a single penalty for the visitors, with Jake Murphy getting one conversion.
