Launceston slumped to a disappointing opening day loss at the hands of National One newcomers Rosslyn Park in London on Saturday. Despite both sides crossing the line for two tries apiece, four penalties from Ross Laidlaw ensured Rosslyn Park took the win. Joe Launchbury and Howard Quigley were the try scorers for Rosslyn Park, with Laidlaw converting both. Launceston's tries came from Ben Turner and Josh Lord. Full-back Mal Roberts added two penalties and a conversion for the visitors.
