Bristol must kick start their season, says coach Hull

Bristol head coach Paul Hull has admitted his side need to kick start their season against Moseley after three straight Championship defeats.

The latest was a disappointing 26-12 home loss to Doncaster, and Hull is desperate for a change of fortunes.

"Sometimes one point will do it and sometimes an ugly win will do it," he told BBC Radio Bristol.

"But it is going to be tough at Moseley. They've won their last two games and are going strong."

Hull has been closely reviewing Bristol's display against Doncaster ahead of the trip to Birmingham, after they handed their opponents a 26-5 half-time lead in their last game.

"It was an interesting conversation with the players," he said. "Everyone should be motivated and passionate to play rugby for Bristol and questions have been asked about that first-half performance.

"We talked at length about the first-half and the reasons we got ourselves in that position - and how and why we got ourselves in a better position in the second half.

"We need to make sure we are physically and mentally prepared for each match. That's what we've been working on this week."

Hull also hinted that there may be team changes as Bristol attempt to get their first Championship points of the season on the board.

"As coaches, we always have to recognise who's playing well and who's not.

"Sometimes it's just a question of changing a few things and getting some fresh bodies in the starting line-up. I think we'll look at that this week."
