Bristol coach Paul Hull looking to kick-start season

Bristol coach Paul Hull is encouraging his players to play 'sensible rugby' as they look for their first win of the season against Doncaster.

Bristol have lost their opening two fixtures of the Championship campaign to Rotherham 26-24 and Esher 29-27.

"We're trying to educate the guys that they're very talented, they've just got to play sensible rugby at certain times." Hull told BBC Radio Bristol.

"For the younger guys they just want to get a win under their belts."

In both games Bristol found themselves in front, 10-0 against Rotherham and 17-3 at Esher, only to let it slip away.

"Momentum's a really important part of the game and we had it in the early part of the game and towards the end of the game.

"But there was a massive chunk where we didn't and we have to work on that."

Hull is hoping for a better result than his side managed last time out at Doncaster, where they lost out 26-22.

"We had a narrow away loss to them and we had to get the season back on track which we did against Coventry," he said

"So after losing away we're hoping for a win this weekend.

"Like us Doncaster are learning each week and like us they'll want to get a win badly so it'll be an interesting contest."
