Cornish Pirates to increase capacity at Mennaye Field

Cornish Pirates

Cornish Pirates have announced plans to increase capacity at the Mennaye Field by more than 1,500 for next season.

The club intend to erect a 1,000-capacity temporary stand opposite the grandstand, while also putting in an extra 504 seats at the Camborne end.

Further improvements will see the Newlyn end of the Mennaye painted, and new steps installed.

The Pirates are also looking into the possibility of installing floodlights and creating more parking spaces.

The club confirmed last week that they had left the Camborne Rec after four years, and will now play all of their home games at the Mennaye next term.

The Pirates last played a full season at the Mennaye Field in 2004/05.
