Redruth matched Newbury's three tries, but were outkicked as they went down narrowly to their mid-table National One rivals. The visitors led 10-7 at half-time, after flanker Herbie Stupple secured the first of the Reds' three tries. But, despite second-half tries for Mark Bright and Owen Hambly, Adryan Winnan's two conversions were not enough. And Newbury stand-off Mitch Burton landed three penalties, to Winnan's one, to seal the six-point victory. Redruth now face Cornish rivals Launceston in the Cornwall Super Cup at Polson Bridge next Sunday.
