Nottingham scored three tries without reply to overpower Exeter Chiefs in the first round of the Championship play-offs at Meadow Lane. The Chiefs began well, with Gareth Steenson kicking three penalties and hitting the post with a fourth as they opened up a 9-0 lead. Nottingham reduced the arrears when David Jackson went over in the corner. Tim Streather and Petrus Du Plessis added further tries, with Jackson slotting a conversion and penalty.
