Vagabonds thrashed 74-12 by league leaders Wirral

Vagabonds suffered a thumping 74-12 defeat at league leaders Wirral in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One on Saturday.

Simon Heggs scored both the Manx side's tries, with Leigh Kennaugh adding a conversion, in what turned out to be a one-sided encounter.

The result sees Wirral extend their advantage to five points at the top of the division with Vagas remaining 12th.

Meanwhile, Douglas lost 17-19 at home to Sefton in Division Two.

The result means the Manx side slip to seventh with Sefton climbing to fifth.

Elsewhere, Ramsey ran riot against Port Sunlight in Division Three, thrashing their opponents 113-3 to maintain their three-point advantage over Holmes Chapel at the top.

In the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy, Vagabonds B beat Douglas B 20-15.
