Jersey's coach says they have trained specially for wet conditions |
Jersey rugby club's trip to fourth placed Havant in National Three London this weekend is a journey into the unknown, says coach Ben Harvey. Neither he nor many of his players have ever encountered the Hampshire side, he told BBC Jersey. "Havant to me are a completely unknown quantity as they are to most of the squad," he said. "We go in there with open eyes and prepared to face anything they can throw at us," he added. "The weather forecast is not good but we've prepared accordingly to play in wet weather; we have a system designed to make it easier for us." Jersey go into the game with a near full squad. Full-back Ross Allen is unavailable as is Paul Rodgers in the second row. However, Harvey says he is not too concerned about the absences. "The luxury is that we can bring Michael Le Bourgeois in - he's been brilliant. "We've been very fortunate - the fitness and conditioning and the medical staff have got the boys in great shape."
