Bois (L) and McArthur (R) lost a close doubles match

Home duo Audrey Bois and Kirsten McArthur suffered another defeat at the Caversham ATP Jersey Open.

The pair, who each lost their singles qualifying matches on Monday, were in action in the first round of the women's doubles main draw on Wednesday.

The island teenagers lost a close match 6-3 6-4 to Karolina Nowak of Germany and Adeyinka Thompson of Nigeria.

Tournament director Hugh Raymond said: "It was a great experience to see the girls play in such an event."

He added: "It is games like this that our talented players need to play more often so this week was an opportunity for three of them to experience what it is like playing in such events."
