Cornish Pirates scrum-half

'Its grim up north', is a comment made by many Southerners and one I couldn't argue with last Saturday. The weather in Rotherham was surprisingly good almost tropical for South Yorkshire, however the result on the day was the grim aspect. We played some very good rugby with good shape, good ambition but again errors at crucial times cost us and contributed to our 29-10 defeat. My old 'friend' Jonny West, Rotherham's outside-half was in fine form with the boot and a personal tally of 21 points sent us to our fourth loss in five games. We have been, as always, analysing our performance and this week has been very much focused on Bedford. Not so much the Bedford team, but on our own team, our own game plan, and if we can put these things into action then we know we will cause Bedford some problems. They have had a fantastic start to the season and as ever are playing some attractive rugby. We hope that we can put things right from last week and put in a performance that the home fans deserve. It is clearly evident that this is a very competitive league and our goals have not changed. The top eight is our first goal and with the coaching staff and the players in the dressing room we have, we are confident this will happen. The defeats of the last few weeks have brought the team closer together as answers have never been found on the floor, by dropping your head or making excuses. We are all accountable and most importantly all determined to kick start this season and regain the form and promise we showed at the start of the season.
