Vagabonds finally got their South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One campaign up and running on Saturday with a fine 39-13 win over Dukinfield. The Douglas side have struggled so far this season having lost their first three games. The sides were tied 13-13 at half-time and Vagabonds captain Kevin Birchall was pleased with their performance. Birchall said: "We really needed to get some points on the board and the second-half performance was fantastic." Meanwhile, Douglas were beaten 30-15 by Ashton-on-Mersey in Division Two and Ramsey drew 15-15 with Knutsford. Elsewhere, Ramsey B narrowly beat Castletown 19-14 in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield. In other matches, Douglas B beat Vagabonds B 21-0 at Port-e-Chee and the Southern Nomads thrashed the Emerging Nomads 52-3 at King Williams College.
