Vagabonds made a disappointing start to their South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One campaign on Saturday, losing 33-7 at Hoylake. A Leigh Kennaugh try, converted by new stand-off Tom Chamberlain were the only points Vagas could manage in a game dominated by Hoylake's back line. Meanwhile, Douglas had a convincing 35-20 victory over Liverpool Collegiate in Division Two. Elsewhere, Ramsey won 18-13 away at Ellesmere Port in Division Three.
