Southern Nomads completed a memorable season on Saturday by clinching a league and cup double. The southern side lifted the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy on Saturday with a 29-15 victory over Vagabonds B. The club's day got better when their reserve side Emerging Nomads beat Castletown 14-10 to lift the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl. Castletown, who needed to win by at least five points, led 10-0 at half-time before Nomads responded. Daryl Richards' try and Sam Peel's conversion and penalty had given Castletown the lead. But Nomads skipper Justin Meechan crossed the Town line early in the second half and Dave Edge added the extras to turn the contest in their favour. Kevin Quantril then gave Nomads the lead which Edge again converted to seal the win.
