Vagabonds Ladies made an instant impact in their new division |
Newly promoted Vagabonds Ladies began their RFUW National Challenge North One campaign with a 43-5 win over Leodiensians second XV on Saturday. The Manx side, who gained promotion in their inaugural season, dominated the contest, showing they are more than prepared for the step up. Coach Darrin Cook said: "All the girls gave 100%, it was a terrific performance from the team. "I think the other clubs in the division will notice this result." Meanwhile, six of the Manx team also played for Cheshire in their 32-20 win over Northumberland on Sunday. Vagas captain Frant Hunt was voted the player of the game. Following impressive performances, Hunt and scrum-half Rachel Beckley have been asked to train with the North West Counties squad. Cook continued: "It is a fantastic achievement and really shows the quality of the players at the club." Vagabonds face Blaydon at Glencrutchery Road on Saturday.
