Jersey soared to a 40-14 win over Barnes |
Jersey Rugby Club won their second pre-season match defeating National League Two side Barnes 40-14 on Saturday. Two first-half tries to Tom Turner and Richard Stevens gave the Island side a 14-7 lead at the break. Four more tries after the interval from Jim Brownrigg, Dan Hawkes, Dan McAviney and Ross Kenwright took the game away from a fast-fading Barnes. Coach Ben Harvey told BBC Radio Jersey: "The players all did extremely well. A lot had excellent games; we made a good team look ordinary." Next weekend Jersey play their third and final pre-season match against French side Rennes from the second tier of French Rugby.
