Sam Bree was in fine form with four tries against Canada |
Worcester's Sam Bree led the way for England Under-20s as they outclassed Canada in winning 45-0. England's head coach Giselle Mather was pleased by the overall team showing in the opening match in the Nations Cup. "I'm thrilled with this performance and how the players stepped up to the challenge," said Mather. "This performance was a massive step up and they have taken on to the field everything we have worked on in training," she added. Bree opened her account when she finished off a move in the left corner after only three minutes. She then scored further tries either side of half-time as England took a firm grip of the game in opening out a 28-0 advantage. Fittingly Bree rounded off the night's scoring when adding her fourth try in the closing stages of the match. England's next match in the tournament will be on Sunday 12 July when they will take on the United States. They will then round off the round-robin stage with a match against Wales on Wednesday 15 July.
