Barrett has made 94 appearances during a four-year spell at Exeter |
Exeter Chiefs acting manager Robin Cowling has admitted he will be sad to lose scrum-half Kevin Barrett to Guinness Premiership side Saracens. The 28-year-old England Sevens regular, who previously played for London Irish, will leave at the end of the season. "We are all very proud of what Kevin has achieved and wish him well for his ongoing career," Cowling said. "Kevin has been a core part of our squad for the last four years and has helped us develop a professional club." The Chiefs last remaining hopes of making the Premiership ended on Saturday when they lost to Rotherham. | Having played so well for us this season, Kevin attracted the attention of the England Sevens squad |
Barrett played 94 games for Exeter during a four-year spell at the club, his debut was against Plymouth Albion in September 2005. And Cowling believes his performances for the Sandy Park side is the reason for his international call-up. "Having played so well for us this season, Kevin attracted the attention of the England Sevens squad. "He played in the Rugby Sevens World Cup and in every IRB tournament this season including competitions in Hong Kong, Adelaide, San Diego and Wellington."
