Exeter Chiefs bring in new prop

Exeter Chiefs

National One side Exeter Chiefs have signed New Zealand Maori prop Hoani Tui from Italian club Calvisano.

Born in Wanganui, New Zealand, Tui has played NPC rugby for Wellington and Taranaki, and was called up to Super 14 side the Hurricanes in 2007.

The 24-year-old is familiar with Sandy Park having played there against Ireland A in the 2007 Churchill Cup.

He is a young, talented prop and a welcome addition to our squad

Chief executive Tony Rowe

Chief executive Tony Rowe said: "We are delighted Hoani has pledged his future to this club.

"He is a young, talented prop who is a welcome addition to our squad and shows the ambition this club has for making it into the top flight."

Tui will arrive at Sandy Park ready for pre-season in June.
