Plymouth Albion had a late try disallowed as they slipped to a narrow defeat at Esher in National One. Mike Denbee looked set to score but the referee penalised player-coach Graham Dawe for an off-the-ball incident. Esher raced into an early 14-0 lead but Albion hit back to lead 17-16 with tries from Arron Cruickshank and Scott Ireland and two Ross Laidlaw penalties. Wing Liam Gibson and flanker Wayne Sprangle also scored tries but could not prevent defeat. However, Albion picked up two bonus points for scoring four tries and finishing within seven points of Esher.
