Delaney's side are through to the quarter-finals of the National Trophy. |
Nottingham director of rugby Glen Delaney believes his side are being spurred on in their EDF National Trophy run by previous semi-final defeats. Nottingham reached the final eight of the Trophy with a 39-8 victory over Cornish Pirates on Sunday. The Green & Whites have reached the semi-finals in two of the last three years, losing to Harlequins and Exeter. Delaney told BBC Radio Nottingham: "You always remember these things and we're pretty motivated in this competition." Tim Taylor scored 29 points, while there was a try apiece for Nic Rouse and 18-year-old Charlie Davies. Delaney added: "I'm delighted for Charlie as he's come through our academy system. He's a local lad from Nottingham and is a fantastic prospect. "I love getting players like Charlie on the park as he can do special things and his try was very well taken. "I very pleased for Charlie and his family, and he's worked really hard."
