Cornish Pirates sign hooker Davey

Wayne Davey
Davey played for the Pirates against Southend in the National Trophy

Cornish Pirates have signed former Redruth and Swansea hooker Wayne Davey for the rest of the season.

Davey, 32, who had been captaining the club's amateur side this season, made an appearance for the Pirates' first team against Southend last month.

Davey's signing comes as the Pirates injury problems up front continue.

Scott Franklin, Bertrand Bedes, Mike Burak and Alan Paver are all out injured meaning head coach Mark Hewitt is short of options in the pack.
