Iva Motusaga scored a try in the first half for the Pirates |
Injury-hit Cornish Pirates stuttered past National Two side Southend in the fourth-round of the National Trophy. First-half tries from debutant Paul Andrew and winger Iva Motusaga put the Pirates 12-0 up at the break. Welsh duo Nicky Griffiths and Rhodri McAtee crossed the line in the second half as Jimmy Moore kicked two conversions to seal the win. Southend came nearest to scoring in the second half, but Simon Hoult's kick at goal was wide off the mark.
