England Sevens recall for Rodwell

James Rodwell
James Rodwell will be joined down under by Moseley loanee Dan Norton.

Moseley forward James Rodwell has been recalled to the England Sevens squad ahead of their IRB World Series events in Wellington and San Diego.

Rodwell, 24, who previously featured in last year's tournaments in Dubai and South Africa, now steps in for injured Bristol forward Greg Barden.

The number eight has been in fine form for Moseley this season, crossing for nine tries in 13 appearances.

England face Argentina, France and Canada in Wellington this weekend.

They then have a similarly tough pool in San Diego the following week when they must take on Samoa, Scotland and Japan.

Barden will be frustrated to miss out, having battled to recover from a shoulder injury suffered during Bristol's A League fixture at Northampton at the start of the year.

Rodwell is joined in the Sevens squad by his Moseley colleague Dan Norton - currently on loan at Billesley Common from parent club Gloucester.
