James Rodwell's three-try haul put Moseley in charge against Newbury |
Moseley moved closer to mid-table security in National One with a convincing 36-9 victory over Newbury at Billesley Common on Saturday. Number eight James Rodwell returned from international duty with the England sevens team to bag a hat-trick. Wing Charlie Sharples also crossed the line and Moseley were awarded a penalty try, adding the bonus point that takes the club to ninth in the table. Newbury's only reward for their efforts was a trio of Ben Stevenson penalties. Next up for Moseley is a Boxing Day trip to Butts Park Arena to take on local rivals Coventry. It is the first time the traditional festive derby game has been staged on Boxing Day since 1992.
