Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies has praised Brad Friedel as the veteran keeper prepares to face former club Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Friedel joined Villa from Rovers last summer and has been key to the club's push for a Champions League place.
"You know you've got a good chance of him saving you even if the opposition gets through," said Davies.
"He is one of those keepers you can rely on all the time. He generates confidence and is top quality."
And the former West Brom man believes that, even at the age of 37, Friedel is still capable of playing an important role for Villa for years to come.
"I've played with some good young keepers, but Brad has been around the block a few times," said Davies.
"He looks after himself so well that, if he wants to, I'm sure he can play for another five years at least.
"As long as he keeps himself the way he is, I am sure he will want to play on because he is still enthusiastic."
