Mounts Bay centre Josh Matavesi has praised his coaches after being called up to the England Under-20s squad for next year's Six Nations Championship. "It's overwhelming after the hard work that the coaches put in like Will Davis and Ricky Pellow at the College and Adrian Bick at Mounts Bay. "It was really good to tell those guys that I've achieved it," 18-year-old Matavesi told BBC Radio Cornwall. The Truro College student has made six starts for Mounts Bay this season. He has just returned from a training camp in Portugal and is hoping to feature for the young England side in the Six Nations. "Hopefully I'll be featuring so it should be really good," he said.
But Matavesi's ambitions may well lie beyond Mounts Bay, for whom he signed from Camborne during the summer. "I'm just looking around at the moment to be honest. I haven't said 'yes' to anyone," he added. "I hope to be playing in Division One or the Premiership next year. I'll set my standards high."
