Cornish Pirates flanker Sam Betty has been suspended for two weeks by an RFU disciplinary panel after a hearing in Bristol on Monday. Betty was sent off for striking contrary to law 10(4)(a) following an alleged head butt against Launceston in the Cornwall Super Cup last month. The panel found him guilty of the charge and suspended him until Monday, 15 December. Betty will miss the matches at London Welsh and Newbury. Five players were booked during the ill-tempered Cornwall Super Cup tie at Polson Bridge on Monday, 17 November. Cornish Pirates won the match 15-3, with Aisea Havili scoring two tries.
