 Southend ran in nine tries against Waterloo |
Southend bounced back from two heavy league defeats to record a dominant 64-26 win over Waterloo on Saturday. The Seasiders ran in nine tries at Warners Bridge, four of them coming in the first 15 minutes. Winger Andrew Frost made an immediate impact on his return from injury to bag 29 points with to two tries, eight conversions and a penalty kick. The visitors ran in four tries of their own, but remain one place below 12th-placed Southend in National League Two. Aside from Frost's brace, Luke Sloan also touched down twice, with Ben McKeith, Sam Cook, Isaac Cook, Chris Green and Richard Gill adding to the Southend score. Matt Groves, Adam Anderson, Freeman Payne and Jan van der Veventer claimed the Waterloo tries. Southend's points haul ended a run of three straight defeats and leaves them just five points behind sixth-placed Tynedale who they meet on Saturday.
