Southend endured their third home defeat of the season after losing 13-58 to Cambridge on Saturday. The visitors dominated the match, running in nine tries to Southend's two, scoring five in the first half for a 29-3 lead and the bonus point. Four more tries for Cambridge doubled the score in the second half and left them third in National League Two while dropping Southend to 12th. The Essex side are yet to record a win at Warners Bridge Park this season. Three players scored a brace of tries for Cambridge, with James Hinkins, Chris Lombaard and Luke Fielden all touching down in both halves. Paul Kendall, Dave Archer and Darren Fox weighed in with their own tries to equal Cambridge's largest-ever margin of victory away from home. Southend's Tyson Lewis and Danny Cleare touched down at either end of the second period for consolation tries.
