Tring v Jersey

Kiwi professional player Sam Tuia is still awaiting a visa

Jersey Rugby Club will make their London Division One debut on Saturday as they travel to Hertfordshire to face newly-promoted Tring.

One of Jersey's four professionals will not make the trip as New Zealander Sam Tuia is still on the other side of the world after problems with his visa.

But Jersey's other three professionals will take to the field on Saturday.

Tring were promoted alongside Jersey last season after winning London Division Two North.

Jersey's assistant coach and former Manawatu and Cornish Pirates professional Nathan Kemp, says the coaching staff have just about found their best team after three pre-season games.

"We've had a look at every single player in the squad and found that combination," he told BBC Radio Jersey.

"Tring have just come up so in terms of measuring ourselves we'll need to take on the teams that are established in the league, but we're ready for this week," he added.
