Cornish Pirates broke their attendance record for a season at Saturday's home 17-17 draw with Plymouth Albion. The National League One club welcomed the 50,000th supporter of the season through the gates at Camborne. It is the first time the Pirates have reached the attendance landmark during the course of a campaign. Marketing manager Rob McEvoy said: "To reach this target with one game to go shows that more people are enjoying the quality and excitement of rugby." The 50,000th fan was Sid Prout, from Hayle, who came to the game with his two grandchildren. Pirates winger Jimmy Moore presented Prout with a signed shirt on the pitch at half-time amidst a wintry flurry of weather .
