Veivers was on loan at Whitehaven last season |
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have signed Wigan Warriors academy pair Josh Veivers and Stuart Howarth for the 2011 Super League season. Veivers, who is a full-back, and loose forward Howarth, both 20, have represented the Warriors in the last three Academy Grand Finals. Wildcats head coach John Kear said: "They are two highly acclaimed young British rugby league players. "We believe they have the talent, drive and hunger to succeed in the game." Howarth captained the Wigan team in the 2010 Academy Grand Final, winning the man of the match award in his final game for the Warriors. Howarth said: "I'm delighted with the move, I think I needed a new challenge and I'm glad John has given me the opportunity to play Super League." Veivers added: "I'm happy for the opportunity to play first grade rugby league, I didn't have much opportunity at Wigan so I'm really looking forward to it."
