Potter's St Helens are two points clear at the top of Super League |
St Helens head coach Mick Potter has said the club are going through a natural period of transition between old and new players. Saints will lose the likes of Sean Long and Lee Gilmour at the end of the season, but youngsters such as Kyle Eastmond are starting to shine. "People say we are losing this player and that player, but that happens," Potter told the Super League show. "Most teams go through this at one point or another." Potter added: "That is on-going for every club but maybe because of the success this club has had it is highlighted more. | It is not just about transition on the first team it is about the hard work in the background that helps keep the club were the supporters expect them to be |
"People look at it and say we are losing this good player or that very experienced player so Saints are surely going to drop and not be as good. "But it's credit to the backroom staff working with the juniors and the people here before me that the youngsters are coming through and are keeping us at the top. "It is not just about transition on the first team it is about the hard work in the background that helps keep the club were the supporters expect them to be."
