Tony Puletua bagged two first-half tries as St Helens stretched their lead at the top of the Super League table. Tom Armstrong, Leon Pryce, James Graham and Kyle Eastmond also scored as Saints totally dominated the first half. After the break Gareth Haggerty and Chad Robinson scored to give Quins hope but Chris Dean hit back for Saints. Jon Wilkin rounded things off for the visitors and late tries by Danny Ward and Matt Gafa could not save Quins from a sixth straight defeat.
Harlequins coach Brian McDermott: "I am still 100% confident that we will make the play-offs. The players are a very strong group and there is no problem with the attitude. "There are plenty of things that we are not doing right but everyone is working hard. "But we will be getting players like Chad Randall and David Howell back next week so there is no need to panic." St Helens coach Mick Potter on fears over Keiron Cunningham having missed the game through suspension after an incident with Wakefield's James Stosic: "I thought Keiron turned in another really good display but then again I cannot remember a time since I came here that he has produced anything other than a quality performance. "It never entered my head that he would be suspended and miss the game. Other people kept suggesting it to me but I just thought it was a lot of hype to be honest. "It was a nothing incident and we have moved on."
