Burnett has found his chances limited at Hull |
Harlequins have recruited Hull FC's 22-year-old back rower Mike Burnett on a season-long loan for the 2011 campaign. Due to their wealth of back row talent, Burnett has played just 36 games for Hull in the past three years. Quins coach Rob Powell said: "I've seen Mike seen play frequently over the last few years and he's always impressed me. "He has had limited first team action, and I know that he's hungry for the opportunity and has the mentality and tools to excel here." Burnett, a product of Hull's academy, said: "I'm really excited about it and looking forward to the move. "It will be a good test for me playing regularly at Super League level and a good opportunity for me to develop my game. | 606: DEBATE |
"Playing at a higher intensity with Quins will help me improve my game and hopefully then I can come back to Hull and stake a claim for a regular place in the side. "Moving to London will be interesting and I can't wait to get started, show them what I can do and earn myself a regular place [in the Quins team]. "It's going to be a good challenge for me, I think the Stoop is a decent place to play, I want to test myself, and I think I can do that at Quins."
