Murrell has been sidelined since May with a shoulder injury |
Hull Kingston Rovers coach Justin Morgan has revealed that Scott Murrell is on the verge of a return to competitive action after injury. The 23-year-old loose forward missed most of last season with a dislocated shoulder injury suffered in May but Morgan says he is in good shape now. The coach said: "Scott's back in full training having been given the all-clear by the surgeon. "He's been fine with no problems and is coming along nicely." Murrell received glowing praise for his form in the early part of the 2008 Super League season prior to picking up the injury. He joined the club in 2006 and was an integral part of the side which won promotion from National League One later that year. With the start of the new campaign a little over a month away, Morgan says the versatile youngster is putting in some work in the weight room. "He's been working really hard with [fitness conditioner] Billy Mallinson on his physique and looking to get a little bit more strength and size. "I think everyone will agree he plays well above his weight so we're trying to give him some extra weight to support that."
