Cusack joined Hull FC in 2008 from the South Sydney Rabbitohs |
Hull FC prop forward Peter Cusack believes the club have enough strength in depth in the pack to cover any front row shortages this season. Garreth Carvell's move to Warrington and Scott Wheeldon's switch to rivals Hull Kingston Rovers in the off season left the FC squad short of props. "It can put pressure on you if you let it but I'm not too worried about that," Cusack told BBC Radio Humberside. "I go out and play my game and try not to let anything like that affect me." The Black and Whites coach Richard Agar has signed Tongan forward Sam Moa although the 22-year-old has not yet received his clearance to enter the UK. Moa, who was with the Cronulla Sharks in the NRL last season, has been described as 'a project' so will not be viewed as an immediate solution to the situation. But FC co-vice captain Cusack says the squad are well stocked with players capable of carrying the load. "We've got 'Dowesy' [Ewan Dowes] who's similar to me and can give you long game time so touch wood we don't get any injuries and we'll be alright." The Black and Whites open their Super League account with a tough game at home to the Wigan Warriors on Friday night.
