Warriors prove too strong
Andy Farrell
Andy Farrell scored one of Wigan's seven tries
Warrington 18-40 Wigan

Wigan ran in seven tries to stretch their unbeaten run to 12 matches with an easy win over struggling Warrington.

The victory brings the Warriors to within a point of second-placed Bradford.

But the Wolves' problems continue and they remain just a point ahead of bottom club Salford.

There were a lot of good performances and as a team we played well
Wigan coach Stuart Raper

Wigan coach Stuart Raper was forced into a re-shuffle when Brian Carney pulled out of the starting line-up.

But full-back Kris Radlinski was in superb form after six weeks out with a chest injury and quickly made his mark with a try.

It was his 99th Super League try and one more will see him become the first player to register a century.

He pounced on 25 minutes to put his side in front after the Wolves had taken a shock lead.

Warrington made the perfect start when centre Sid Domic raced on to Lee Briers' inch-perfect kick to score the game's first try after only two minutes.

But Wigan turned the game on its head with three tries in 15 minutes, two of them from hooker Terry Newton.

The Great Britain international fended off the challenge of prop Mark Hilton to cross and then supported a half-break by Andy Farrell to claim a second.

Superiority

In between, Radlinski got in on the scoring act and Julian O'Neill kicked all three conversions as the Warriors led 18-6.

As a team we need to take confidence from the start we had
Warrington coach Paul Cullen

Warrington, who showed plenty of fight, pulled a try back on 37 minutes through winger Rob Smyth.

But Wigan scored again in first-half injury time and three further tries in the first 13 minutes of the second half merely illustrated the visitors' superiority.

Adrian Lam claimed his seventh try in the last six games, teenage winger Shaun Briscoe grabbed his first for the club and Farrell jinked his way over for the 98th of his career.

O'Neill took his goal tally to six from seven attempts.

Warrington had the final say when lively winger Graham Appo flew in at the corner and Briers kicked his third conversion before being replaced with an arm injury.
